Weihnachts-Glücksbringer – Mama Elephant

Hallo! Wie niedlich ist denn das schwebende Schwein vom Set „Hogs and Kisses“ von Mama Elephant? Einfach herzig, das musste noch auf eine Weihnachtskarte 🙂

Ich habe auch gleich das neue Nuvo Expanding Mousse getestet. Die Farbe, die ich verwendete, ist Misted Mauve. Zuerst habe ich jedoch zwei Rechtecke gestanzt, ein größeres und ein bisschen kleineres. Ich habe dazu ein älteres Set von Mama Elephant genutzt. Aber es gibt auch tolle Rahmenstanzen von Lawn Fawn (Ich verlinke unten bei den Materialien ein Beispiel).

Auf dem größeren Rechteck habe ich die Paste bzw. das Mousse mit einer Spachtel ohne Plan, also kreuz und quer, aufgetragen. Da später nur der Rand sichtbar sein wird, habe ich in der Mitte kaum Mousse aufgetragen.

Bevor es noch trocknen konnte, habe ich alles mit der Heat gun trocken geföhnt. Der Effekt ist dadurch ein wenig stärker, als wenn die Paste zuerst trocknet und dann geföhnt wird. (Ohne heat gun sieht das Expanding Mousse übrigens wie ein Embellishment Mousse aus.)

Ist der Effekt nicht einfach unglaublich? Super für Mixed Media ♥

Auf dem kleineren Rechteck habe ich mit Schablone und Pumic Stone Distress Oxide Ink ein paar Sternchen gezaubert. Danach wurden die Motive aus „Hogs and Kisses„, „A beary Christmas“ und „Joy Ornaments“ mit Memento tuxedo black gestempelt und mit Copic Stiften koloriert.

Die Motive habe ich auf das kleinere Rechteck geklebt und der Spruch von „Mini Messages“ kam auch noch hinzu.

Als Kartenbasis wählte ich eine metallic-schimmernde weiße Karte und nach dem Anbringen der Rechtecke war die Karte auch schon fertig. Das Nuvo Expanding Mousse sorgt hier eindeutig für das gewisse Extra!!

Hi everyone! How cute is that gliding pig from the stamp set „Hogs and Kisses“ by Mama Elephant? It’s just adorable, so I had to use it on a Christmas card 🙂

I also tested the new Nuvo Expanding Mousse from Tonic Studios. The color I used is called misted mauve. But before that I had diecut two rectangles (a larger one and a smaller one). I used an older set from Mama Elephant but there also great sets from e.g. Lawn Fawn (I will link one as an example in the supply list section).

On the larger rectangle I applied the mousse without any thinking. Since only the edges will be visible on the final card I didn’t apply any mousse in the centre of the background.

Before it had a chance to dry I used my heat gun to dry it manually. The effect you get with using the heat gun is more intense than by letting it air dry. (by the way without the heat gun the expanding mousse looks like an embellishment mousse)

Isn’t the effect gorgeous???!! Also perfect for mixed media ♥

For the smaller rectangle I used a stencil from Tim Holtz and pumic stone distress oxide ink to add some stars. Then I stamped images from „Hogs and Kisses„, „A beary Christmas“ and „Joy Ornaments“ with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored them in with Copic markers.

I adhered the images to the star background and added a greeting from „Mini Messages„.

I chose a white metallic cardbase and adhered the two rectangle pieces to it. With that the card was all finished – I think the Nuvo expanding mousse adds a lot to the design.
