Hat da jemand Kuchen gesagt? – Mama Elephant

Hallo allerseits! Neben all den großartigen neuen Lawn Fawn Produkten hatte auch Mama Elephant wie in den letzten Monaten einen tollen neuen Release im Mai. Dabei ist mir besonders „the wild roar“ ins Auge gestochen. Heute habe ich das Set daher für eine Geburtstagskarte verwendet.

Ich habe gleich damit begonnen die süßen Dschungel-/Savannentiere zu stempeln und mit Copic Stiften zu kolorieren. Da ich meine Karten meist vorab skizziere, wusste ich, welche Bereiche am Ende sichtbar sein werden und ich brauchte nicht alle Tiere zu kolorieren. Ich habe auch einige der tollen Blätter verwendet (ich glaube beide je 8x) – die gefallen mir besonders gut und lassen sich bestimmt noch häufig einsetzen. Ein kleiner Affe vom Set „little monkey agenda“ kam ebenfalls noch in meine Auswahl.

Anschließend stanzte ich die „woodgrain cover“ Stanze für den Hintergrund und wählte peacock feathers Distress Oxide Farbe, die ich mit den Mini blending tool auftrug (auch andere Hintergrundstanzen würde sich hierfür primär eignen – ein Beispiel findet ihr bei den Materialien). Von einem älteren Mama Elephant Stanzenset Framed Tags Park Avenue stanzte ich den Rahmen und entschied mich für peeled paint Distress Oxide Farbe. (Es eignet sich dafür fast jede Rahmenstanze – ihr habt sicher etwas Passendes zu Hause). Die Geburtstagsgrüße vom Rahmen und Hintergrund stammen vom sehr nützlichen Set „Birthday Messages„.

Zum Schluss befestigte ich den Hintergrund auf einer weißen Kartenbasis. Der Rahmen kam mit foam tape dazu und letztendlich dann auch noch die vielen Blätter. Ich habe kurz überlegt, ob ich die überhängenden Blätter abschneide, brachte es aber nicht übers Herz 😉

Hello everyone! Beside all the great new Lawn Fawn products Mama Elephant had an awesome release last week too (as all their releases lately, at least for me 🙂 ) From the May release I was especially fond of the „the wild roar“ stamp set. Today I used the set for a wild birthday card.

I started stamping the sweet jungle/safari critters and colored them in with Copic markers. Normally I sketch my card designs so that I know which areas of the images will be visible after finishing the process. This helps me to save time – there’s no need to waste time/mediums on areas which will be hidden afterwards. I also used the awesome leafs and stamped and colored them multiple times (I guess 8times per design) – I really love the leaf design and I am sure I will be able to use them often. I added a cute monkey from the set „little monkey agenda„.

Afterwards I diecut the die „woodgrain cover“ for the background and chose peacock feathers Distress Oxide which I blended with a mini ink blending tool (other background diecuts are also possible for this card design – you will find one example in the supply list). I also diecut a frame using the older Mama Elephant die set Framed Tags Park Avenue and used stanzte peeled paint Distress Oxide for it. (There are many different frame dies and you could use most of them for sure – just look into you stash 😉 ). The birthday wishes which I stamped onto the frame and background are from the useful set „Birthday Messages„.

Last but not least I adhered the background to a white cardbase. I added the frame with foam tape and adhered all the leafs and other mages with liquid glue. I thought about trimming the overhanging leafs but decided against it.
